MOTR/Octocore
Advanced Pilates for Strength, Balance and Control
MOTR (Movement on the Roller) is an advanced form of Pilates training, inspired by the traditional Reformer and developed by leading Pilates equipment specialists, Balanced Body. It offers a unique way to build strength, improve balance and enhance overall movement through controlled, functional exercise.
My approach
Using resistance pulleys, MOTR challenges the body in a more dynamic way, targeting the muscle systems that work together through the back, shoulders and core. This helps to improve strength, stability and coordination, supporting the body to move more efficiently and feel stronger in everyday life.
The curved surface of the roller adds an additional element of balance and control, while also allowing for myofascial release/massage, helping to reduce tension and improve mobility. Exercises can be performed in a variety of positions, including standing, seated, kneeling and lying, creating a versatile and engaging session that adapts to your ability and progress.
Due to the level of focus and guidance required, MOTR sessions are delivered in very small groups or on a one-to-one basis. This ensures you receive close supervision, allowing exercises to be tailored to your needs and performed safely and effectively.

Octocore
Multi-Directional Training in a Single Band
The Octocore by SISSEL is a clever piece of kit — an X-shaped 3D elastic band with numbered loops that connect all four limbs into one continuous chain. By working the body multidimensionally rather than in isolated planes, it activates the deep myofascial connections that conventional training tends to miss, building strength, mobility and better posture in the process. It's a brilliant complement to Pilates and yoga, and small enough to take anywhere — but like all the equipment I use, it's most effective with proper instruction in a one-to-one or small-group setting.
